Marhan's Grotto?
How far in the game do you have to be to get here? How do I get here?

Marhan's Grotto is post ascension in the south shiverpeeks. It is SE of the Thunderhead Keep mission.

It's pretty much the next to the last outpost in the game and the last place you can buy armor from (if you exclude Fissure of Woe).

If you are moving left to right thought the storyline, there are the Thunderhead Keep, Ring of Fire, Abbadon's Mouth, and Hell's Precipiece missons. Quest wise following the same order there is only the Final Blow quest in the Ember Light Camp.
Missions + Quests = 5

If you've made it to the Grotto, there's really only one more area to explore, Perdition Rock. The rest are just missions.

The Grotto has to be one of the coolest cities in the game (literally )
It's funny to run around the town with no clothes on (brrr...), and go "ice skating"
Sorry for the relatively OT post...
But, Marhan's is one of the last "Towns" in the game besides Ember Light Camp

For its location, it really doesn't make sense. The whole zone around it is swarming with mursaat, jades and imps, but yet you have this little peaceful grotto in the middle safe and sound from the outside world? Meh, whatever. I guess a lot of places are like that.
And I love being able to walk (not run) when the ice slow kicks in. Just a cool little feature.

It's actually SW of Thunderhead keep, more south than west, and it is a fairly easy run with henchmen to take the brunt of the damage, but I will admit the drops there were good enough for me to go back through it with just the two monk henchies and the mesmer hench and kill everything.
